AlertEnterprise® and SAP Sign Global Reseller Agreement

SAP to Resell Physical Security Management and Monitoring Solutions from AlertEnterprise; New Solutions to Provide Customers with Critical Infrastructure Protection

Fremont, California – December 12, 2013 —AlertEnterprise today announced that it signed a global reseller agreement with SAP AG (NYSE:SAP). SAP® will resell physical security and monitoring solutions from AlertEnterprise, under the names “SAP® Physical Security Management by AlertEnterprise” and “SAP Critical Infrastructure Protection by AlertEnterprise”. The solutions are designed to deliver critical infrastructure protection to companies in industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, transportation and water utilities, electric power, as well as federal facilities. The aim of today’s announcement is to address complex threats against critical infrastructures, which have grown significantly in the past few years, giving rise to an increase in spending to secure these environments.

According to Jasvir Gill, Founder and CEO of AlertEnterprise, “Addressing security in silos of IT and OT is like building a bridge by starting from both sides of the river hoping that they might meet somewhere in the middle; we know that doesn’t usually work”. Mr. Gill goes on to add, “our joint solutions will help customers improve operational reliability, protect operating assets and respond quicker to a range of vulnerabilities and persistent threats by enabling them to analyze and track security events in a broader business context, whether from cyber, physical or insider sources.”

The new SAP Physical Security Management solution by AlertEnterprise, and SAP Critical Infrastructure Protection solution by AlertEnterprise, will work with SAP Predictive Analysis software and with the SAP HANA® platform, enabling fast security incident management and informed Response.

“The collaboration between AlertEnterprise and SAP focuses on physical security and industrial control systems with the goal to enable us to reduce security silos and provide a holistic view of risk to the enterprise,” said Steve Lucas, president, Platform Solutions, SAP. “Many of SAP’s customers within process industries, energy, and transportation have expressed a need to protect their critical assets and operating infrastructure. Working closely with AlertEnterprise, we now anticipate that we can deliver infrastructure protection software that scales across the enterprise.”

When asked about the relationship, Wendi Reiter, Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac Airport), reinforced its importance. “Combining the AlertEnterprise innovations with SAP HANA will provide high-performance, integrated predictive risk analytics for airport security,” said Reiter. “Airports will now have the ability to respond in split seconds to multiple complex threats. AlertEnterprise and SAP are providing a significant advance that is much needed in light of recent incidents involving critical infrastructure.”

Widely considered the “Davos” of the energy world, CERAWeek attracts some of the brightest minds and the most accomplished thought leaders to mingle with the CEOs and other top executives of the largest energy, oil and gas industries worldwide. Jasvir Gill’s session on Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection will be held on Wed. March 5th, 2014 as part of the
Energy Innovation Pioneers 2014 program.

Featured speakers at IHS CERAWeek include Ben Bernanke, former Chairman of the US Federal Reserve System; John Hickenlooper, Governor of Colorado; Cheryl LaFleur, Acting Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; Ernest Moniz, US Secretary of Energy; Gina McCarthy, Administrator, US Environmental Protection Agency; Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy, Russian Federation; ministers of energy and natural resources from numerous countries across the globe; and the CEOs of AEP, BG Group, BHP Billiton, Chevron, Direct Energy, Dow, Duke Energy, ENI, First Solar, Pemex, Petrobras, Siemens, Spectra Energy, Total, TransCanada, and Valero Energy.

A CSO Magazine study has confirmed that the financial cost attributed to cyber incidents are mounting. The Energy Industry led this trend with incidents in this sector costing the most. 24% of the surveyed companies reported their losses from security breaches to be in excess of $10 Million [Source: 2014 Global State of Information Security Survey, PricewaterhouseCoopers, CIO magazine, CSO magazine, September 2013].

Jasvir Gill, long considered an expert in security and critical infrastructure protection, was invited to return to IHA CERAWeek to address the Energy Innovation Pioneers class of 2014. As a distinguished alum he will remind the audience that in spite of increased spending on security, companies are facing a growing number of attacks that are more complex in nature. According to Jasvir Gill, “Cybersecurity threats now extend well beyond just IT-related attacks. Intruders are extending their attack vectors to combine this with threats to physical security and SCADA Industrial Control Systems” Jasvir adds, “Attacks that are complex in nature, need more sophisticated solutions that can extend across the entire enterprise.”

AlertEnterprise has developed security technology that bridges the gap between IT and OT (Operational Technology) to deliver 360-degree situational awareness and incident response for corporate and critical infrastructure protection. Jasvir goes on to add, “AlertEnterprise now delivers solutions to the Energy Industry with partners to help improve operational reliability, protect operating assets and respond quicker to a range of vulnerabilities and persistent threats from cyber, physical or insider sources.”

Previously, AlertEnterprise announced an agreement with SAP AG. Under the terms of the agreement, SAP will resell specific AlertEnterprise software products as SAP Physical Security Management by AlertEnterprise and SAP Critical Infrastructure Protection by AlertEnterprise.

AlertEnterprise™ Demonstrates First Enterprise-Proven IT-OT Security Intelligence Platform at Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit, June 23-25

Enterprise Sentry™ Delivers Unified Critical Infrastructure Protection across Cyber, OT / SCADA and Physical Security

National Harbor, MD— June 23, 2014 AlertEnterprise, today, announced the first proven IT-OT (Operational Technology) Security Convergence Platform at Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit. Now operating in high security environments, the Enterprise Sentry offering meets Gartner’s rigorous definition of Cybersecurity revised to include IT Security, OT Security and Physical Security.

Organizations are conditioned to respond to incidents along departmental lines. This silo approach leaves wide gaps open for malicious actors to opportunistically create blended threats across the domains of cyber security, physical security and operational systems, thereby defeating exiting security and controls.

Enterprise Sentry™ delivers security intelligence for fast, informed response to security breaches across multiple domains: IT security, physical access to facilities and assets; and operational technology like SCADA or Industrial Control Systems. By consolidating cyber, human and asset intelligence, Enterprise Sentry delivers unmatched ability to the SOC (Security Operations Center) to (1) correlate threats that extend beyond IT and across the enterprise and (2) deliver smart decision support to security teams for the most rapid response to unfolding events, mitigating their impact, and sometimes preventing incidents altogether.

Mark Weatherford, a Principal at the Chertoff Group and the former Deputy Undersecretary for Cybersecurity at the US Department of Homeland Security, notes that “critical infrastructure like Utilities, Oil and Gas, Chemicals, and Transportation all manage large geographically dispersed operating assets. Until now it has been impossible for organizations to simultaneously capture, correlate and comprehend the vast number and types of threats, both physical and cyber in all locations”.

Jasvir Gill, Founder and CEO of AlertEnterprise adds that, “Enterprise Sentry delivers comprehensive awareness of single and blended threats, creating a virtual command and control center able to initiate informed response and fast action”.

Enterprise Sentry features include built-in risk scoring by role, for employees and contractors, as well as asset risk for high-value assets and underlying systems. Additionally, machine learning features assist with assimilating behavior patterns and delivering split-second detection of anomalies. Built-in support for big data components like SAP HANA and Hadoop ensures real-time correlation of signals across complete data sets from disparate threat intelligence sources.
